Here you will find technical notes and a practical guide so your adventure runs smoothly.

Game guide

Before you start

  • Want the best playing experience?

    Play on a computer or laptop and ideally in full-screen mode. Windows: F11. Mac: cmd + ctrl + F. Press the same keys again to leave full-screen mode.

    We strongly advise against playing on a smartphone because we cannot guarantee a smooth experience there.

  • Playing on a tablet?

    That only works in landscape mode. Please use a tablet only if no larger device is available.

  • Want to make sure you do not miss anything?

    Check before you start that audio is enabled. Some characters and the narrator provide important information through audio.

During the game

  • What should you do?

    Explore the rooms carefully. Check objects, clues and clickable areas. This is how you solve the puzzles step by step.

  • Found something?

    Click it. It will automatically go into your archive in the top left once the archive is available in the game. Some objects are needed later.

  • Missed part of a spoken message?

    Click the small speech bubble in the bottom right once it appears in the game. You can read spoken text again there.

  • Something too small or worth a closer look?

    Some puzzles show a magnifying glass in the top right. If no magnifying glass is visible, there is nothing to enlarge at that point.

  • Need to remember many details?

    Take notes on paper. A photo or quick sketch can also help.

  • Not a walking encyclopedia?

    Feel free to use Google. It is best to open it in a new browser window.

  • Stuck?

    Use the question mark in the top right to get hints. Do not hesitate to use them when needed.

  • Want to go one step back?

    That is not necessary and does not work well through the browser. Please do not use the browser back button because it can disrupt the game flow.

  • Several browser windows open?

    When in doubt, leave them open so you do not accidentally close the window with the game.

  • Can you take a break?

    Yes. You can pause at any time and leave the browser window open. The game also points out a particularly good moment for a break.

  • Cannot remember everything from this guide?

    No problem. The guide is available in the top right during the game.

Technical help

Basic requirements

  • ›Play on a laptop, desktop computer or, if necessary, a tablet in landscape mode. Do not play on a phone.
  • ›Use a current browser. We recommend Google Chrome, or alternatively Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari or Opera. Please do not use Internet Explorer or Brave.
  • ›A stable internet connection is essential.

Audio settings

Audio is required for the full atmosphere. Some browsers block automatic audio playback. Here is how to enable it:

Google Chrome (Windows / Mac)

  1. Start the game in Google Chrome.
  2. Click the site icon to the left of the address bar.
  3. Open Site settings and set Sound or Audio to Allow.
  4. Reload the page and click once inside the game so audio is allowed to start.
  5. If an autoplay prompt appears, click Allow.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Start the game in Safari.
  2. Open Safari in the menu bar and choose Settings for This Website.
  3. Set Auto-Play to Allow All Auto-Play or allow all media.
  4. If Safari muted the tab, click the speaker icon in the tab.

Firefox (Windows / Mac)

  1. Open the game in Firefox.
  2. Click the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  3. Open More Information or the permissions details.
  4. Set Autoplay to Allow Audio or Allow Audio and Video.
  5. Reload the page and click once inside the game.

Microsoft Edge (Windows)

  1. Start the game in Edge.
  2. Click the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  3. Open Site permissions and set Audio to Allow.
  4. If the tab is muted, click the speaker icon on the tab.

Still no sound after enabling it? Also check the system volume in Windows or in the macOS sound settings.

Full-screen mode

For the best experience, we recommend full-screen mode. It hides distractions and makes important details easier to see.

Windows / Windows laptop

  1. Press F11.
  2. The browser switches to full-screen mode.
  3. Press F11 again to exit.

Mac / MacBook

  1. Press cmd + ctrl + F. On some keyboards, you may also need to hold fn.
  2. Alternatively, click the green full-screen button in the top left.
  3. Use the same shortcut or the green button to exit full-screen mode.

Tablet / iPad

  1. Rotate the tablet to landscape mode.
  2. Hide the browser UI if possible.

If you accidentally close the window or leave full-screen mode, nothing is broken. You can return at any time.

Frequently asked questions about the online escape games

How many people can play?

We recommend 1-5 players for the best experience.

Do I need special software?

No. The entire game runs directly in your web browser. No installation is required.

How does the code work if we play on different devices?

One code is valid for everyone. Each player enters the code on their own device. For remote play, we recommend a parallel video call so you can coordinate during the game. The game does not automatically sync devices.

How long is my code valid?

Your code has no expiration date for starting. Once the game has begun, the code is active for that playthrough. Breaks are possible.
